CONTROCAMPO [ Lampedusa ]

In the cinematic language "CONTROCAMPO" is a technique used into the dialogues that shows, alternatively, the first and second actor while they're talking. The point of view is often subjective, so that the spectator can sees through his eyes.
To make the video "CONTROCAMPO [Lampedusa]" I abandoned a camera off the island of Lampedusa (italian island sadly famous in the world for the problem of immigration) supported by a small floating, at the same time a second camera on the tripod is filming in the opposite direction of the first camera. In the video editing, the two frames split the screen in half; The continuous diving and re emerging of the first camera evoke a desperate attempt to trace a common horizon with the second camera. Two opposite views, but also two tragically different existential conditions that metaphorically seek a point of contact.

Nel linguaggio cinematografico il controcampo è una tecnica usata nei dialoghi e mostra, alternativamente, il primo e il secondo soggetto mentre parlano. Il punto di vista è spesso soggettivo, in modo che lo spettatore si immedesimi nel personaggio e veda attraverso i suoi occhi.
Per realizzare il video "CONTROCAMPO [ Lampedusa ]" ho abbandonato una videocamera al largo dell'isola di Lampedusa (luogo simbolo nel mondo del problema dell'immigrazione) sostenuta da un piccolo galleggiante, contemporaneamente una seconda camera su cavalletto riprende con inquadratura fissa nella direzione della prima. Nel montaggio le due inquadrature dividono il fotogramma a metà; le continue immersioni ed emersioni della prima macchina evocano un tentativo disperato di tracciare un orizzonte comune con la seconda. Due punti di vista opposti, ma anche due condizioni esistenziali tragicamente diverse e lontane che cercano metaforicamente un punto di contatto.
